Agency may recall air operator certificate of Azur Air on March 21

MOSCOW, Feb 2 (PRIME) -- The Federal Air Transport Agency may withdraw the air certificate of charter air carrier Azur Air on March 21 unless it repairs violations, the service said in a statement on Friday.

“During an unscheduled inspection in December 2017, the service discovered discrepancies and violations in the activities of the airline that cover issues of maintaining flight worthiness of aircraft and organization of flight operations. Azur Air failed to confirm elimination of violations and issues by the deadline defined by law,” the statement read.

“Azur Air’s air operator certificate was limited to March 20. The carrier will continue its operating activity in full and will carry on commercial flights under previous liabilities until the date. If all violations are eliminated, the restrictions may be lifted under current legislation. Otherwise, the company’s flights may be suspended from March 21.”
